PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a vehicular operating characteristic accord with a driver's steering tendency. SOLUTION: Driver's steering angles and car speeds are measured each by a steering behavior measuring device 10 and a vehicular state measuring device 12, feeding a steering characteristic judging device 14 with these data. In this steering characteristic judging device 14, the steering angle and the steered variable are calculated at every car speed, and further the snaked variable is calculated. When a steering period is longer than the reference value, it is sorted as a course predicted type and a steering response gain is set up to be high, but when the steering period is shorter than the reference value, it is sorted as a course maintaining type and this steering response gain is set up to be low. In addition, when the snaled variable is much enough, the gain is set up to be lowish, and when it is less in quantity, the gain is set up to be somewhat higher. With this constitution, in case of the course predicted type, responsiveness is improved, while in case of the course maintaining type, stability is improved, making them able to be optimized to a driver's steering characteristic. |
