A quadrant detector (4) emitting signals and an optical system (5) are used to form a two-dimensional geometric shape (3), e.g. circle, which is applied from the detector to the first object (1) in a different colour to that of the object. Information regarding the position of the second object (2) in the yz-plane is found in the signals emitted by the detector. |
