摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thermal transfer recording sheet having excellent printing density gradation reproducibility, high glossiness and clear and high resolution by providing one or a plurality of undercoating layers each containing specific amount of organic pigment having an air gap between a support and a recording layer. SOLUTION: In the heat melt thermal transfer recording sheet adapted to a heat melt thermal transfer printer comprising a recording layer containing 10 to 50 pts.wt. of binder to 100 pts.wt. of pigment and formed particularly on a support, one or a plurality of undercoating layers each containing 5 to 100 pts.wt. of organic pigment having air gap are provided between the support and the recording layer. And, the recording layer contains 0 to 30 pts.wt. of inorganic pigment having 60 ml/100 g or more of oil absorption. This recording layer is provided by a casting process. The organic pigment may have air gap in the pigment, and is not particularly limited, and includes polymer fine particle of styrene, ethylene, vinyl chloride, polyurethane or nylon.
