PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently support the head of an occupant during vehicle collision by rupturing a skin material in its predetermined rupture area to swell an air bag mainbody above a head rest when a gas generator is operated. SOLUTION: A sewed area 9a as a predetermined rupture area is formed in a rupture possible condition on a skin material 9 for a head rest 5 and at the outer periphery edge at both sides and an air bag device 11 is stored in the head rest 5. The air bag device 11 has a gas generator 13 fixed into a head rest frame 6 and an air bag mainbody 15. When the gas generator is operated, the air bag mainbody 15 ruptures the skin material 9 in the sewed area 9a and at both side thereof to be put in a predetermined swollen condition along the outer periphery edge of the head rest 5. In this way, the head of an occupant can be sufficiently supported during vehicle collision. |
