<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent rapid operation of an engine brake unsuitable to a driver by a method wherein a counter is provided, the number of the counters is adjusted according to the operation state of an automobile, the number of the counters attains a preset decision value, an automatic clutch is connected, and when it is reduced to a value lower than the decision value, a clutch is disengaged. SOLUTION: A brake time when a driver applies a brake on an automobile and deceleration occurring due to the brake application are determined by using an increase and decrease counter. The increase and decrease of the counter depend on the speed of an automobile, selection of a gear, the number of revolutions of a drive input shaft, or a brake force at a state at every time. When a counter level exceeds a decision limit, an engine brake is operated. This constitution properly evaluates a brake state by the increase decrease counter and engages an automatic clutch according to a preset parameter and a counter level to an engine brake, whereby comfortableness is improved.</p> |
