PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To unify the thickness in a short period of time even when a raw material expanded body has a large area, and improve the productivity, by forming a gas passage which communicates with the outside, along the press surface of a press means. SOLUTION: A press plate 1 wherein a plurality of slits 12 which radially extend are provided on the press surface 11, and certain parts of these slits 12 reach the end parts of the press surface 11, is prepared. Then, between two press plates 1, 1, a raw material expanded body comprising a closed-cell resin expanded body is pressed, and a shape recovery expanded body is obtained. By this manufacturing method, at the time of pressing, a gas passage is formed between the press plates 1 and the raw material expanded body by the slits 12, and for this reason, when a gas in the air bubbles is discharged to the outside through air bubble walls by the compression of the raw material expanded body, a gas which generates at the central part is smoothly discharged as well through this gas passage. Therefore, the raw material expanded body can be contracted to a uniform thickness within a short period of time. |
