PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize the generation of resin powder to thereby reduce defective moldings due to the powder in laminating and multilayer molding by impregnating base glass fibers with an epoxy resin varnish, cutting the prepreg to a necessary size, strongly pressing the end of the prepreg, and treating the end with a liquid that does not dissolve the epoxy resin and then with a liquid that dissolves the resin. SOLUTION: A pair of rotating rolls are used for strongly pressing the end of the prepreg. Water is preferably used as the liquid that does not dissolve the prepreg. Particularly, water containing little ionic impurities is used from the viewpoint of electrical reliability. An organic solvent (e.g. acetone) is suitably used as the liquid that dissolves the prepreg. Heating at 100 deg.C or higher is not necessary for drying. Hot air at 90 deg.C or lower is blown for drying to shorten the time of liquid treatment steps. This technique gives a prepreg which is most suitable for multilayer molding of an article flat all over the surface, without occurrence of ruggedness and waviness, and which scarcely generates resin powder from the cut sections, etc. |
