The lower cabinet (2) is releasably fixed to the work top (1) and first devices (7) are provided for the height adjustment of the work top. The height adjustment devices are formed by a guide component fixed to the wall (10), in conjunction with which works a slide component. On the slide component is fixed an outer holder for supporting the work top at a distance above the unit. The releasable fixture of the lower cabinet to the work top is formed by a horizontal profile strip on the inside of the lower cabinet and at some distance from the upper side. The strip is accommodated in the slot-shaped space between the work top and the outer holder, supporting on the latter.
