An embodiment of the parent Specification which discloses thoroughly mixing an adhesive and a lubricant together and forming fibres therefrom, adding these fibres to synthetic or glass fibres, forming a paper web, and heating the web so that lubricant and adhesive melt with the adhesive running along the lubricanted synthetic or glass fibres to the points where the fibres intersect, is modified by adding an alkyd resin to the mixture of an adhesive and lubricant. The types and examples of adhesive, lubricant, and synthetic fibres are similar to those described in the parent Specification. Regenerated cellulose fibres may be used. The composite fibres may contain an oil-soluble metal catalyst such as cobalt naphthenate. |
