PURPOSE:To improve input efficiency by simultaneously inputting a character key inscribed with a numeral and a KANA (Japanese syllabary) character, the character key inscribed with a KANA and a key for KANA/numeral conversion and converting inputted data to words and a phrase for which the numerals and the KANA characters are combined. CONSTITUTION:A JIS arrangement keyboard 10 is provided with a function key C3 and an alphanumeric key C4, etc., other than the character keys inscribed with the numerals and the KANA in pairs and the character keys inscribed only with the KANA characters and the simultaneous operation of the function key C3 and the alphanumeric key C4 corresponds to the key for KANA/numeral conversion. Then, code data inputted with the character keys are transferred to a KANA data buffer 30 in an undefined state. When the keys C3 and C4 are operated simultaneously in this state, the code data are transferred to a butter 40 for KANA/numeral conversion and are KANA/numeral converted by referring to a KANA/numeral conversion table 40a. Then, the code data are transferred from the data buffer 30 to the buffer 50 for KANA/KANJI (Chinese character) conversion to be KANA/KANJI converted by continued clause conversion by a conversion key and the conversion is defined to be stored in a document buffer 60. |
