Quarter turn locking fastener for the assembly of two adjacent elements (10,11) consisting of a female piece (2) designed to butt against the surface of one of the adjacent elements and having an oblong shape in projection (15) designed to pass through an oval shaped hole (13,14) in each of the elements (10,11). A male piece (1) whose head (9) is in a corresponding oblique form aligns with the previous projection when unclamped and by turning by a quarter turn locks the elements in position. A compression spring (3) holds the parts (1,15) together. It is characterised in that the projection (15) has a guide ramp (16) for the moving of the male head to its locking position under the reaction of the spring (3). Two retractable pieces (18) hold the head (9) in its unlocked position and when retracted, allow the head to be rotated to its locked position.
