Photographic material consisting of a transparent naphthalene carboxylate polyester support, an Ag emulsion and optionally also non-light-sensitive layers is such that there is in at least one of the layers a UV absorber of formula (I) where R<1> and R<3> = H, halogen, alkyl, aryl, -OR<6>, -NR<5>R<6>, mercapto, alkylthio, acyl, alkoxycarbonyl, aryloxycarbonyl, carbamoyl or sulphamoyl; R<2> = H, OH, halogen or alkyl;R<4> = alkyl, aryl, alkoxy, aryloxy, alkylthio or arylthio; R<5> = H, alkyl, aryl, acyl, alkoxycarbonyl, aryloxycarbonyl, carbamoyl, sulphamoyl or sulphonyl; R<6> = H, alkyl or aryl; and m and n = 1, 2, 3 or 4.
