<p>A cement-paper composite article is formed by mixing particlized paper, which may be created by conducting paper (2) through a grinder (4), with water in a container (6) to form a mash (8), blending a chemical binder (12) with the mash (8) and then adding cement (14) while in a mixer (10). Afterwards, a calcium compound (16) such as calcium hydroxide, hydrated lime or carbonated lime is mixed therein and the composite is poured into a mold, extruded, or manually shaped to form a cement-paper composite article. The chemical binder (12) comprises a mixture of water, formaldehyde, acetic acid, iodine, methanol, sodium hydroxide, ammonium carbonate and sodium hyposulfite.</p> |
