Method for underbody protection by powder coating treatment esp. to protect vehicle underbodies from corrosion and stone impact

In the method of coating car bodywork, a coat of colour matching the bodywork, and an underbody protection layer are applied. The latter differs in colour. When set, the thickness is no less than, or has a mean value of 200 mu m, over 30% or more of the area coated. It involves coating at least part of the underbody with a powder protective layer. This differs from the colour- and thick protective layers. Over 30% or more of the coated area, the layer is no thinner than, or has a minimum mean thickness of 50 mu m. Also claimed is vehicle bodywork so treated.
