The fuel injector assembly for particularly an eight cylinder internal combustion engine has a high pressure pump to feed the fuel into at least one pressure reservoir feeding a common rail for multiple solenoid operated injector valves. The proportion of the inner diameter of the feed pipe to the length of each injector feed pipe is between 1:36 and 1:41, where the inner diameter is less than 2.99 mm and a pipe length of less than 122mm. The ratio of the inner diameter to the pipe length is approximately 1:41.
