Fuel supply system for internal combustion engine

The fuel supply system has a fuel tank (1), from which pressurised fuel is supplied to the injection jets (5) of the engine. There is a valve (7) in the fuel line (2). The system also includes a fuel trap container (6) under negative pressure. The trap is separated by the valve from the fuel line so that when the valve opens, the fuel in the fuel line is sucked into the fuel trap container. The opening of the valve may be dependent on a sensor (8). The valve may have a device to close it after a set duration of opening.
