The invention relates to a method for controlling the machining of a workpiece moving during the machining process in which several machine tool units are used simultaneously to machine said workpiece in different positions, especially a rotating camshaft which is rotationally and simultaneously milled in several positions (A, B, ...) by separate machine tool units (a, b, ...). The inventive method is characterized in that the movement speed of the workpiece, especially the rotational speed (nKWa, nKWb) of the camshaft (KW), and the movement speeds (na, xa, ya, ...; nb, xb, yb, ...) of the machine tool units (a, b, ...) can be chosen in such a way that an optimum overall machining performance can be obtained for the sum (S) of all simultaneously machining work positions (A, B, ...) by taking into account the optimum movement parameters (nkwa, na, xa, ya; ...; nkwb, nb, xb, yb, ...) of the workpiece (KW) and the tool (WZ) in each individual work-position. |
