Lifting device for vehicle superstructure

The lifting device (50) is for building onto something set on the load surface of a vehicle, e.g. a container. It has a shaft tube (55) and a stand tube (74) able to be moved relative to the shaft tube by a drive device. The shaft tube has a carrier jib (53) fitted transversely to it. The jib is engaged with a jib guide (56) on the container, enabling the shaft tube to move relative to the guide so that the lifting device can be moved translationally across the vehicle from transporting position to service position.
