<p>Recovery of paraffins and/or microwaxes from used plastics comprises melting the plastics in an extruder by applying frictional energy after removing metallic, (in)organic and mineral impurities, heating to 350-390 deg C, further heating by friction and external heat to 430 deg C and firing the melt after passing a filter system under a pressure of 3-600 bar against an impact body heated to 400-550 deg C and subjecting to flash vaporisation at normal pressure or in a vacuum.</p>
