The window with upright middle portion comprises a frame and leaves with protrusions forming stops for the glazing, also external impact ribs. Ridges form a step-section gap between the frame sections. The impact rib (10) is integral with the first frame component, which is flush with the second one (6), which has an external ridge (31) accommodating the impact strip. The gap between the first and second ridges (11,14;12,15) or the frame sections can be arranged to widen in the plane of the window.
