Sealing sole construction for opening closable by slider plate

The sole sealing band comprises two layers. It may have an upper layer (32) made of comparatively hard, elastic rubber or plastics material with a smooth surface and a thickness of a few millimetres. The band incorporates a soft lower layer (33) adhered or welded to the under side and made of closed cell foam rubber or foam plastics, which is embedded sandwich fashion between the upper layer and the sole base (2,31). The arrangement of the soft layer on the under side of the sealing band causes it to be embedded and protected, in the installed state of the sealing strip, between the steel band (31) and the hard layer.
