The invention relates to image display screens using a cell matrix to form an image. More particularly, the invention relates to means for facilitating relative positioning of various elements during manufacturing. The inventive screen consists of at least two electrode networks (RE, Y1 to Y3). One of the characteristics of the invention is that at least one of said networks (RE) consists of 'variable direction' electrodes which are shaped in such a way that they spread out and then return towards their longitudinal axis (Al) to intersect and pass alternatively from one side to the other of said axis. The spread (D1 to Dn, D'1 to D'n) of a variable direction electrode (E1 to En, E1 to E'n) in relation to the longitudinal axis (Al) has an amplitude (Amin, Amax) depending on the position of the electrode (E1 to En, E1 to E'n) in respect to a reference position (X3). This arrangement provides appropriate dimensional leeway to facilitate superpositioning of several masks (20', 21') of varying dimensions. The invention is used in 'flat screens', specially plasma panels.
|
