A towed pipeline pig for leak detection includes a body (13) with associated seals (23-26) to provide sealed chambers for receiving a test pressure. Fluid can continue to flow through the pipe via central tube (28). An equalisation valve (35) can be closed typically during the leakage check over a pipe joint previously detected by sensors (30-32). A computer (20) provides leakage rate and other parameters.
