The invention relates to an arrangement for regulating the capacity of a screw compressor with the aid of at least one valve slide (11) that can move axially against the action of a spring force in a cylindrical chamber (7) that includes a series of connection openings (10) to the working chamber of the compressor. These connection openings are covered successively by the valve slide (11) at increasing capacities. With the intention of eliminating the static friction of the valve slide, the valve slide (11) is caused to vibrate by a pressure fluid, to control the valve slide, and the pressure fluid is pulsated by means of an arrangement (18, 19; 28).
