FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: hexafluoropropene oligomers are prepared by mixing hexafluoropropene with catalyst or mixture of more catalysts in the presence of aprotic solvent. Catalysts are selected from cyanide, cyanate, and thiocyanate salts of alkaline metals, quaternary ammonia or quaternary phosphonium. Process is especially effective for selective preparation of hexafluoropropene dimers. If solvent and catalyst are properly selected, process occurs with high yield and is economically effective.
