PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily form barrier ribs and phosphor films with high accuracy by forming the barrier ribs of a barrier rib substrate of a member separate from a back face plate and a front face plate, arranging plural holes to form a discharge cell in the thickness direction in this barrier rib substrate, and forming the phosphor films on inner walls of these holes. SOLUTION: A back face plate 8A and a front face plate 12 are integrally laminated through a barrier rib substrate 20 on which phosphor films 7A and 7B are formed. In the front face plate 12, a cathode 10 and barrier ribs 11 are formed on a glass plate 9, and in the back face plate 8A, a bus line 2, a resistance layer 3, an insulating layer 4 and an anode 5 are formed on a glass plate 1. In the barrier rib substrate 20, a discharge cell forming through hole 22 is formed in a substrate 21, and the phosphor films 7A and 7B are formed on an inner wall of this through hole 22, and it is used. A uniform phosphor film can be easily formed by the formation of the phosphor films 7A and 7B, and since the barrier ribs to partition a discharge cell are composed of the barrier rib substrate 20, it can be easily manufactured without being restricted by a height or the like of the barrier ribs. |
