PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constantly give entire information up to the destination to the driver by simultaneously displaying a first map that is plotted by overlapping the vehicle position onto a searched route and a second map that is plotted with a different scale from that of the first map. SOLUTION: A navigation device for vehicle has, for example, a data- processing control part 16 and a display part 18 that consist of, for example, a vehicle position calculation part, a course selection part, and an image-editing part. The course selection part searches a course from the current location and the destination inputted in advance and the vehicle position calculation part calculates the position of the vehicle from the selected course and the driving history. The image-editing part sets a display range based on the vehicle position and the destination and plots a first map where the vehicle position is displayed at the lower portion of the screen. Further, for example, a second map, where a selected course that differs from the scale of the first map and only a road that is directly connected to the course are shown, is plotted and the outputted maps are simultaneously displayed on a display part 18, for example, as a multiple window. |
