PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the deformation of a tape on preservation and to prevent a recording signal from being deteriorated during extended storage in a digital tape cassette. SOLUTION: A magnetic tape 3 that is used in a digital formal where the upper limit of the thickness of a tape is 8μm and the width of a recording track is more than 5μm and equal to or less than 17μm is wound and built in between a take-up side reel 4A and a supply side reel 4B for constituting a tape cassette 1, and the maximum friction coefficient between tape guides 5A and 5B that are formed between opening parts 21 in a cassette case 2 and the magnetic tape 3 is set to a value that is 0.45 or less in environment where temperature is 45 deg.C and moisture is 85%.
