PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellent observation sample for a TEM(transmission type electron microscope) and an SEM(scanning type electron microscope) by evenly diffusing a magnetic powder pigment. SOLUTION: Relating to the observation sample, an ethylene glycol group interfacial active agent is used to diffuse non-magnetic or feeble-magnetic iron group oxide (α-Fe2 O3 ) powder, while, relating to the ethylene glycol group interfacial active agent, a hydrophilic solution comprising it by 15-40 wt.% is used to diffuse a magnetic powder, for obtaining a diffusion most appropriate for a powder pigment. Here, ultrasonic homogenizer 5 is used for diffusion. This diffusion method can be applied to the diffusion of magnetic powder pigment which mainly constitutes a lower layer, an intermediate layer, and a back layer of a magnetic tape for coating type magnetic recording medium.
