PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend and to contract a reproducing time without changing the pitch of the music waveform data, which are PCM recorded, and without degrading tone quality. SOLUTION: The waveform data being recorded are divided into note units by the specification of a tap point TP(i) and a dividing point BP(i) and the data are read by extending and contracting the reading time in the units in accordance with the extending and contracting of the reproducing time. If the reproducing time is shorter than the recording time, the waveform data of each note are read with the speed, which is same as the speed of a recording, and the reading is terminated during the operation. If the reproducing time is longer than the recording time, the waveform data of each note are read by the speed, which is same as the recording time, and one segment of each note is looped and is matched with the reproducing time. Thus, the reading speed is not varied, the pitch and the tone quality are not changed and the reproducing time is arbitrarily set. |
