PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the user to discriminate surely whether or not image information is normally read at a low cost by taking correlation between a read test pattern and a recorded test pattern. SOLUTION: In the case that a processor 41a receives a command denoting a request of 'test of read function of image information' via a key board 43, the processor 41a prints out a test pattern registered in a test pattern table. Then the processor 41a reverses a line feed motor 51 in the process of print so as to restore the state that an image sensor 46 is opposed to a face of paper to which the sensor 46 had been opposed just before the print of the test pattern is started. Furthermore, the test pattern is read from the printed paper and it is compared properly with a bit pattern registered in the test, pattern table, and when they are dissident, identification information obtained by using a corresponding bit as a key is outputted onto a display device 42 together with a message of the dissidence. |
