PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep the density of a recording paper stable by suppressing the dispersion of the density of the recording paper. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a counter 10 counting up whenever a recording operation is executed and a laser light emission time adjusting device 13 for controlling the emission time of laser light, so as to adjust the density of an image on the recording paper, based on a controlled variable from a density adjusting key 12. Then, it is judged whether the count value of the counter 10 reaches a normal value or not. When the count value does not reach the normal value, the device enters into a standby state. When the count value exceeds the normal value, the fact that the exchange of a photoreceptor is required or instructions to set the density high are displayed on a control panel 11 or reported to a user or a serviceman with a warning sound, etc., and then, the device enters into the standby state. Even if the standby state is obtained, the reporting to the user or serviceman is continued and at the time when the photoreceptor is exchanged, the counter 10 is clear. |
