PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contour corrector composed of a digital circuit which can correct a contour without adding any shoot component. SOLUTION: A maximum value detection circuit 6 acquires a signal B3 by detecting a maximum value out of five pixels with a signal B1 as a center. A minimum value detection circuit 7 acquires a signal B4 by detecting a minimum value out of five pixels with the signal B1 as a center. An HPF 8 generates a high frequency signal component corresponding to the signal B1, and this component is made double into signal B2 by a multiplier 9. An adder 10 adds the signals B1 and B2 into signal B5. A maximum value detection circuit 11 selects any larger one of signals B4 and B5 into signal B6 and a minimum value detection circuit 12 selects any smaller one of signals B3 and B6 into signal B7. |
