Explosive charge-actuated miniature valve

A miniature valve has a charge (5) of combustible material (preferably nitrocellulose or propergol) which is provided on a substrate (1), preferably a semiconductor chip, and which is in contact with a resistor (2) so that a predetermined energy supply (preferably of less than 10 J) to the resistor causes ignition of the charge for locally rupturing the substrate to open a substrate passageway. Also claimed are: (a) a reservoir filling device; (b) transdermal medical agent administration equipment comprising the above valve; (c) a process for manufacturing the above valve.
