PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power supply capacity of a switched reluctance motor for output torque, by detecting a current supplied to the stator winding of each phase of a switched reluctance motor, and controlling the inverter circuit in such a manner that this current value coincides with a predetermined current command value. SOLUTION: An inverter circuit 14 has two switching elements (S s (, u1), Su2 ), (Sv1 , Sv2 ), (Sw1 , Sw2 ) for each phase, and the conduction of the switching elements Su1 , Sv1 , Sw1 are controlled by drive pulses Pu3 , P s(, v3), P s(, w3), and the switching elements S s (, u2), S s (, v2), S s (, w2) are controlled by drive pulses Pu4 , Pv4 , Pw4 respectively. In this case, a current supplied to the stator winding of each phase of a switched reluctance motor 1 is detected by current meters 19 to 21, and the inverter circuit 14 is controlled in such a manner that this current value coincides with the predetermined current command value Io. By doing this, the power supply capacity of the motor 1 for the output torque can be made smaller. |
