PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately eliminate noise components and to provide the images of high image quality by correcting the values of the image data of respective picture element positions so as to make the absolute value of the value for indicating the inputted image data for a specified color of the respective picture element positions or adjacent picture element positions by a specified relation as small as possible. SOLUTION: The value of an expression k1.d1.k2.d2+...kn .dn is made as small as possible. In the expression, (n) is the number of color components for constituting the images, k1-kn are correction coefficients and d1-dn are the image data of the respective colors at the same picture element position. The correction coefficient is experimentally found beforehand by using the light of various spectral intensity distribution. A color filter 4 is arrayed in a matrix shape corresponding to a photodetector by white(Wh), green (G), sky blue(Cy) and yellow(Ye). A control circuit 2γ-corrects the image data obtained by image pickup, performs an interpolation processing for converting them to the image data corresponding to the respective colors of the color filter 4 at the respective picture element positions and performs a correction processing for eliminating the noise components.
