PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate an adjustment of a light-emitting element to a substrate and to make it possible to obtain accurately the banding angle of a lead wire, by a method wherein a spacer is provided with a placement surface for adjusting a gap between the element and the substrate and a holding surface for holding closely an LED main body. SOLUTION: First, a spacer 3 is placed on a substrate 2 and at the same time, a mounting hole 20 formed in the substrate 2 is held coincident with an insertion hole 32 in the holding surface 34 of the space 3. With a lead wire of an LED made to insert in the hole 32 in the surface 34 of the spacer 3 and the hole 20 formed in the substrate 2, the lower surface of an LED main body is placed on the placement surface 33 of the spacer 3. In this state, the lead wire is fixed in the hole 20 formed in the substrate 2. Then, the spacer 3 is made to slide to the substrate 2 in the bending direction of the lead wire. Whereupon, with the lead wire bent at a prescribed angleθon the upper surface of the substrate 2, the LED main body on the placement surface 33 of the spacer 3 is tilted and is held closely on the surface 34 of the spacer 3.
