PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain toner by which high-density and high-quality image can be formed over a long term and which is hardly deteriorated by constituting the toner of base particles principally composed of fixing resin and colorant and additive and setting true specific gravity within a specified range. SOLUTION: A latent image holding body keeping an electrostatic latent image on its surf ace and a toner carrier are arranged to be opposed through a fixed space in a developing part. The toner is carried on the toner carrier in thickness smaller than the space, and the carried toner is made to fly to the surface of the latent image holding body so as to develop the image in the developing part. This toner is constituted of the base particles principally composed of the fixing resin and the colorant and the additive, and its true specific gravity is 0.8-1.1. By setting the true specific gravity of the toner smaller than the conventional toner, the toner sensitively reacts to electric field in the developing part and applies excellent flying property to the electrostatic latent image. When the true specific gravity of the toner is >1.1, the toner is not completely shifted to the electrostatic latent image, and when it is <0.8, the strength of the toner itself is lowered. |
