PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an initial exciting method of a synchronous motor wherein vibration of a rotor at the time of initial magnetic pole pull-in is restrained in a short time, and gain set portions like the gain of a velocity controller are reduced. SOLUTION: This excitation method is equipped with a velocity controller 12 outputting a current command from a deviation signal of a velocity command and motor velocity, current controllers 1, 2 operating a voltage command from the current command, and a PWM operation part 3 outputting a gate signal from the voltage command to an inverter power supply 4. In order to determine the position of the magnetic axis of a synchronous motor when the motor 5 driven by the inverter power supply 4 is started, the phase of the output voltage of the inverter 4 is fixed, and current is made to flow in the direction determined as the magnetic axis direction, thereby performing pull-in. In this case, the control gain of the current controller 1 of a q-axis current in the direction rectangular to the magnetic axis is set to be zero, and magnetic pole pull-in is performed. As a result, the number of control gains to be determined can be reduced, and vibration at the time of pull-in can be restrained in a short time. |
