<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect whether an animal exists or not by utilizing electronic waves by identifying whether a detected object is an animal or not based on the combination of the reception levels of different frequencies. SOLUTION: For example, in a forward monitoring system on a vehicle, a forward monitoring device 10 that utilizes electromagnetic waves with an area in front of the vehicle as a monitoring region is connected to the input/ output interface (input signal processing circuit and output signal processing circuit) 2 of a host electronic control device ECU 2. A CPU 3 gives a measurement instruction to the forward monitoring device 10 via an input/output interface 2. A first antenna 11, a transmitter/receiver 12, a second antenna 14, and a transmitter/receiver 15 discharge electromagnetic waves with a first frequency (10 GHz) and a second frequency (60 GHz) that is higher than the first frequency essentially in the same direction and receive a reflection wave from the forward part in discharge direction. Also, a level detector 16 and an ECU 1 generates identification signal for indicating whether the ratio of the reception levels of reflection waves with each frequency being received is the ratio when a reflection object is an animal body or not.</p> |
