The autonomous pressure regulator has a regulator element (12) to which is connected a membrane actuator (14). The regulator element has a seat (20) and a corresponding valve head (18) which moves relative to the seat driven by an actuator rod (24). The rod is displaced by the membrane, which has the pressure of the incoming fluid on one side. The membrane is made of a composite material comprising two elastomers. The elastomer on the face of the membrane exposed to the incoming fluid contains an ethylene-propylene-diene rubber (EPDM) and the other elastomer is a fluorinated (FPM) rubber.
