PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of flickers while maintaining a normal field frequency by stitching and displaying video images for a left eye and the video images for a right eye for respective sub fields for constituting one field or sub field groups. SOLUTION: One field is divided into the six sub fields provided with the light emission time of the ratio of 32:16:8:4:2:1. The video images for the left eye for one field are displayed by the six sub fields that are the first sub field SF1, third sub field SF3 and fifth sub field SF5 of odd-numbered fields and the second sub field SF2, forth sub field SF4 and sixth sub field SF6 of even- numbered fields. The opening and closing of liquid crystal shutter spectacles are also switched for each sub field, and upon paying attention to one of the video image for the left eye and the video image for the right eye, the total (emitted light intensity) of the light emission time in the odd-numbered fields and the total (emitted light intensity) of the light emission time in the even- numbered fields are different. |
