PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a contrast of a gas discharge display device and to decrease a dispersion brightness and choromaticity in a display plane. SOLUTION: An address electrode (first electrode) 6, barrier ribs 4, R, G, B fluorescent material layers 3 (3R, 3G, 3B) are provided on a back base. A display electrode (second electrode) 7 which is extended to a direction crossing at right angle with the address electrode 6 is formed on a front base 1 oppositely provided to the back base 2 via gas. On the display electrode 7, color filters 5 (5R, 5G, 5B) are provided which are extended to the same direction as that of the address electrode 6 and have the same color as the luminous wave length of the corresponding fluorescent material layers 3. By using a pattern of the address electrode 6 formed on the back base 2, as a light shielding mask, the color filters 5 having the same pattern as that of the address electrode 6 is formed. Accordingly, decrease in quality of display caused by positional displacement of the color filters 5 is prevented. |
