<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the resolution of band width and to support multiple VC by providing several rotary queues, one or more than two stationary queues and a means for transferring a VC entry between the rotary queue and the static queue. SOLUTION: A time wheel 12 constituted of the queues 10 is constructed. The VC entries 14 where transmission is scheduled are placed in the queues 10. The time wheel 12 rotates clockwise one step by one step every ATM cell time. The stationary queue 20 is fitted to a position 0 on the time wheel 12. Whenever the queues 10 arrive at the position 0, the VC entries 14 are added to the stationary queue 20. The VC entry in the stationary queue 20 is taken out once for transmission at every cell time and it is immediately rescheduled by placing it in the approaching queue 10. Thus, correspondence to the changes in the number of VC and the characteristic is realized without the need of recalculation.</p> |
