PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly transmit sound data following picture data to a reception side by providing a control means for switching the packet size of picture data which is packet-transmitted by a packet transmission means based on a detection result by a detection means. SOLUTION: Picture data caught by a picture capture 1 is compressed by a compression part 2 and it is sent to a data division part 3. A sound packet detection part 7 detects the presence or absence of sound data inputted to a data division part 6 or a sound packet which is generated later and outputs a control signal corresponding to the presence or absence to the data division part 3. The data division part 3 generates the picture packet of the optimum size and outputs picture data to a transmission buffer memory 8 based on an input control signal from the sound packet detection part 7. On the other hand, sound data captured by a sound capture 4 is uniquely generated into the sound packet of the prescribed size in the data division part 6 and it is outputted to the buffer memory 8. |
