The tongs have a support frame (4) mounted on a tube (4) or a perch with a sliding lever (3). A curved support (5') is connected by hinges to a forked section (6) allowing exertion of traction equally upwardly as downwardly along the tube. The curved support can be formed to enclose the whole posterior section of the animal during the operation and which remains closed and anchored to allow exertion of higher traction forces.
