A cooling apparatus for a switching cubicle has a air guide channel in which a heat exchanger is located. In the air flow direction behind the heat exchanger is located a condensate separator. The climatised air behind the heat exchanger can be conducted away by an air outlet out of the guide channel. The condensate separator (20) has at least one flat collector wall (21,22) that is provided with a number of holes and is located in the guide channel behind the heat exchanger in the air flow direction. The collector wall(s) of the condensate separator consist(s) of wire mesh. The separator actually has two such walls which are located one behind the other.
