The pressure converter has a piston assembly which slides centrally in the through-bore of the casing (10) . The piston comprises a high pressure piston (13), in the form of a smooth rod, connected to a low pressure piston (14) by a clamping sleeve (15). To the left and right of the piston assembly is a working chamber cover (12,12a) through which the piston passes. The ends of the high pressure piston protrude into high pressure cylinders (11,11a).
