On at least one point along the rod section (10) which joins the tool shank (22) are several support elements (30) that are angularly spaced apart. Through direct or indirect action of the fluid pressure these are pressed radially to the rod section against a centering face (14) located at a radial distance away from it. The centering face forms an axially parallel sliding guide for the support elements bearing against it. The support elements are located in radial bores in the rod section or in an annular housing (28) encompassing the rod section.
