The protection screen has two parallel spaced apart winding spindles (4,6) installed in such a way, that the surface between them at least partially covers the window (14,16). A winding medium (2) extends between the spindles, and a drive mechanism drives at least one of the spindles, such that the medium is wound onto one or the other spindle. The winding medium has two sections (8,10). One of the sections is designed to block the sun's rays and may be a UV-impenetrable transparent foil.
